Policy Program: The National Issues Forums
The National Issues Forum is a grass roots policy program that aims to invite citizens from an array of social and political backgrounds deliberate on a variety of policy issues related to their daily lives. The forums employ moderators to help participants learn how to listen to each other, how to analyze different views on public issues, and how to make choices that will benefit the whole community. As part of this project, LCPS has prepared and published booklets that were distributed during the forums and address issues such as the environment, the health care system, and confessionalism in Lebanon as well as Lebanese women's participation in public life.
This policy program was organized in cooperation with the Young Men Christian Association (YMCA), and the Kettering Foundation.
