 The Lebanese Center for Policy Studies along with the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung organized, on 1-2 June 2005, a conference on “The New Media and Socio Political Change in the Arab World.”
The workshop brought together academics media professionals and experts in media to dicuss Arab media, in particular satellite media.
There were five sessions with panelist presenting papers on a variety of topics and a roundtable discussion. Some topics broached were satellite political, social and entertainment programs, media ethics, and the future of Arab media. The workshop also had a session devoted to examining the impact print and television media on the recent political events in Lebanon.
The papers will be complied into a book to be published in late 2005. |
