With the cooperation and support of
the International Center for Economic Growth (ICEG) and the Center for
International Private Enterprise (CIPE), the Lebanese Center for Policy Studies
(LCPS) has organized an on-going research and conference program under the name
of The Lebanese Economic Tribune (LET), (al Minbar al Iktissadi al Lubnani) .
The LET was established to promote public discussion of key economic issues in
post-war Lebanon and to form a network of economists, academics, government
officials, business people, and journalists, to shape a consensus around and
formulate strategies for the development of Lebanon's economy. The aim of the
LET is to guide research, organize workshops and conferences, and provide
information and analysis on key economic issues.
Experts in different economic fields
are usually appointed to conduct research and present their papers in forums
which bring together policy-makers, businessmen, economists and journalists.
The aim of the research and the subsequent debates is to produce policy
recommendations which are distributed widely to government officials and
decision-makers.
A Steering Committee has been formed
to help LCPS in identifying research topics, and in carrying out the activities
of the LET. The committee members are:
