Executive Summary
Postwar reconstruction and development efforts will be fruitless
unless accompanied by intelligent and objective policy analysis and
open debate. The LCPS has taken a vigorous role in this area by
organizing conferences and overseeing research on important aspects
of postwar development.
In cooperation with America-Mideast Training and Educational and
Training Services (AMIDEAST), LCPS prepared a comprehensive study of
Postwar Institutional Development in Lebanon with an Assessment for
Foreign Assistance. The seminar study explored Lebanon's social and
economic needs and charted its foreign aid requirements.
The Study was conducted upon the request of the U.S. Agency for
International Development (AID), and has been adopted as a reference
document by a number of local and international aid agencies. This
Study and has been followed by other development studies and reports
for several UN agencies.
