Lebanon’s Crises Deny Children their Basic Rights: A Quantitative and Qualitative Overview
The newest study conducted by UNICEF on Child Poverty reveals alarming trends. These trends are the result of multidimensional poverty affecting over 80 percent of Lebanese families. As a consequence of Lebanon’s ongoing crises, children and youth are increasingly becoming deprived of their basic rights. These deteriorating conditions are likely to have a lifelong impact on children’s personal development, their families, their communities, and the country as a whole.
1. What does the research reveal about the state of child poverty today in Lebanon, and children’s access to their basic rights?
2. What are the long-term implications of multidimensional poverty on children and women in Lebanon, and the country as a whole?
3. What are some strategies that have been ideated and implemented to counter multidimensional poverty impacting children and families and how do we build for a better future?
To answer these questions, the Lebanese Center for Policy Studies in cooperation with the United Nations Children's Fund invites you to a webinar presenting UNICEF’s most recent study on multidimensional poverty. The webinar will include an explanation and discussion of the study by leading experts on poverty, children, and gender and will allow for an interactive Q&A session.
